About IYC Suomi
We connect young people with opportunities to serve their communities, learn through experience and work with others.
Our story
IYC Suomi began its work in Finland in 2015 and became a registered association in 2017. As part of the International Youth Cooperation network, it brings a wider tradition of youth volunteering into a Finnish community context.
Its history includes food support, visits to older people, mentoring and activities bringing young people from different backgrounds together. Alongside local volunteering, IYC Suomi has organised international learning and service opportunities. In 2018, these included an Erasmus+ youth exchange in Finland and a development cooperation camp in Senegal.
Today, the website connects visitors with practical activities such as food distribution, cooking for others and companionship. The purpose remains to give young people concrete ways to contribute, take responsibility and learn through helping others.

Our work
Community volunteering
Food support and companionship create practical opportunities for young people to help others. Our activity platform shows the sessions currently published and how to take part.

IYC Suomi has organised a personal development programme covering communication, emotional intelligence, relationships and social responsibility. It creates space to reflect on how we relate to others and contribute to our communities.
International cooperation
IYC Suomi’s international work has included school construction support in Uganda in 2017, cooperation activities in Senegal in 2018 and 2019, and camps and exchanges in Hungary in 2020 to 2021. These form part of its history of learning and service across borders.
